Elizabeth Lapena-Schultz

Pilates and GYROTONIC® Instructor

Elizabeth Lapena-Schultz, a native of California, began dance training at the age of 5, including ballet, modern, jazz, and Filipino folk dance. She has danced professionally with Inland Pacific Ballet, dawsondanceSF, Project Agora, Chicago Repertory Ballet, and Luna Negra Dance Theater.

Elizabeth was first introduced to Pilates and GYROTONIC ® through her dance training. She found both movement systems beneficial not only to her dancing, but to her overall health and well-being.

In 2008, she received her Pilates certification through Body Arts and Science International at the BASI headquarters in Costa Mesa, Ca. Elizabeth was introduced to GYROTONIC® during her time at Dominican University of California/LINES Ballet where she graduated with honors with a B.F.A. in Dance. She trained under the direction of Certified Master Trainer Debra Rose and received her final certification in 2011.

In addition to finishing the Pilates Jumpboard Dynamics course with Cindy Reid in 2015, Elizabeth has continued her movement education becoming certified in Specialized Equipment for GYROTONIC® including: the Leg Extension Unit, the Jumping Stretching Board, and the GYROTONER®. She has also completed GYROTONIC® Applications for Dancers, GYROTONIC® Applications for Golf, GYROTONIC® Applications for the Shoulder Girdle, and GYROTONIC® Applications of the Fascial Body.

Elizabeth is a Level 1 Franklin Method® Educator as of September 2017, trained under the direction of Eric Franklin, the founder. She aims to educate, empower, and inspire people from all backgrounds to move better and feel better in their bodies.
