iRest® is a contemporary, evidence-based form of mindful meditation developed by Richard Miller, PhD., a psychologist and yoga teacher. This contemplative practice promotes experiences of relaxation, well-being, self- inquiry, and heightened awareness. It has been used in a variety of settings and has been shown to be effective in helping reduce stress, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, PTSD, and sleep disturbances.
The workshop will include an overview of the iRest® protocol, a short guided meditation, a longer 35-40 minute guided meditation, and an opportunity for discussion and questions. Each participant will be given a handout and access to a mini iRest® recording to facilitate daily practice.
No previous meditation experience is needed. The meditation practice itself takes place in a comfortable seated or lying down position.
There is a 4-person minimum, and 10-person maximum.
Deadline to register is Friday, September 21st, 2018.
