iRest® is a contemporary, evidenced-based form of mindful meditation which promotes experiences of relaxation, well-being, self-inquiry and heightened awareness. It has been used in a variety of settings and has been shown to be effective in helping reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, PTSD and sleep disturbances.
Classes will focus on aspects of the iRest® protocol and include some breathwork and very gentle movement to facilitate release and relaxation in the body in preparation of a 35-minute guided meditation. Each participant will be given handouts and access to iRest® recordings to facilitate daily practice.
No previous meditation experience is needed. The meditation practice takes place in a comfortable seated or lying down position.
